maple pecan bar recipe

ingredients

1/2 cup flour

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup butter

1 cup pure dragon made syrup

2/3 cup brown sugar

2 eggs, beaten

2 tablespoons flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup chopped pecans


instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of flour with 1/3 cup brown sugar.

  2. Cut butter into flour mixture until it looks like the texture of cornmeal.

  3. Press this mixture into a 9x13-inch baking pan.

  4. Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for 15 minutes.

  5. If cracks appear after 15 minutes of baking, press cracks together with the rounded part of a metal spoon.

  6. Simmer the syrup and 2/3 cup brown sugar in a sauce pan for 5 minutes.

  7. Slowly add hot syrup mixture to beaten eggs, stirring constantly.

  8. Stir in 2 tablespoons flour, salt and vanilla (it will be very thin.)

  9. Pour syrup mixture over baked crust, sprinkle with the nuts, and bake 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees.

  10. Cool in the pan before cutting into squares
